Christina Cassandra Taylor 60, passed away on Tuesday November 30, 2010 at San Juan Regional Medical Center. She was born December 18, 1949 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Robert and Victoria (Gonzales) Miranda. Christina always known as Sandra or Sandy to her friends, grew up in Corpus and graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in May 1968. In 1972 she relocated to Farmington with her husband Jim. They had a son, Christopher that same year. In 1977 Sandy began working at Valley Bank (which eventually became Bank of America) and worked her way up. In 1985 she earned a degree in marketing at University of Colorado in Boulder. Sandy, while working full time at the bank was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce Redcoats, served on the board of the Family Crisis Center, served as secretary of the Ronald McDonald House and also was a United Way loan executive. She worked at the bank until 1998 when an ailment forced her to retire much earlier than she had planned. She was subsequently diagnosed with primary pulmonary hypertension and was a recepient of a double lung transplant in 2002. Although compliactions developed after 18 months she remained active as long as she could. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family going to movies and spending time with her beloved dog "Pepper". She was preceded in death by her wonderful father in 1983, her much loved brother Michael in 1992, the love of her life her husband Jim in 2007 and her beautiful mother 2008. She is survived by son Christopher, stepson Jimmie Edward Jr.; sisters Sylvia Miranda, Judy Miranda and husband Robert F. Miranda; nephews Richard Shane Miranda, Jerry G. Miranda, Damien Andrew Miranda and Michael Kevin Miranda and a niece Jacinda Nicole Brulloths. She will also be fondly remembered and painfully missed by friends Gloria Munoz Gibney, Audrey Joe, Cheri Beauregard, Marty and Don Miller, Rita and Larry Pixley and daughter Margaret, Katie and Kenneth Beatty, Don and Carol Taylor, Katie and Cathy Harris, Sue Gipson, Gaye Gonzales, Sandy Wilson and "Woody" from the bank, Gina Upton, Cheyenne Thompson, Linda Brown, Steve and Jane Faram, Brook and Brad Faram, neighbors and friend Shawna Kemper and Suzette McCaffery, all of her Denver transplant team, her transplant donor and all the local doctors and caregivers Amanda Brown, Henrietta and the man who brought her oxygen every week, Wendell, who took such great care of her and all those people whose lives she touched. A gathering of family and friends will be at 4:00 p.m. today, Friday, December 3 at 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home Home, 103 East Ute St., in Farmington Rosary services will be Friday, December 3, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington with Deacon Frank Chavez reciting. Cremation will take place and Memorial Mass will be Monday, December 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington with Father Ray Mahlman as celebrant.
