Christopher Martin Gustavson passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, at the age of 65. He was born on September 2, 1959, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Kathryn and DeVern “Bud” Gustavson.

Chris dedicated many years of his life as an Air Traffic Control Specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration at Oakland Center in California. His dedication to excellence and attention to detail made him not only a valued professional but also someone who took great pride in giving his best to everything he did.

Those who knew Chris will remember him as a kind and generous man with a huge heart. He was the kind of person who would help anyone in need, always ready with a warm smile and a comforting presence. He had a natural ability to make others feel at ease, and his gentlemanly nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Chris had a deep love of music, and many songs bring back cherished memories of the time spent with him. His fun-loving spirit and sense of humor brightened the lives of his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Gustavson of Alabama; his sisters, Greer Gustavson of California and LezliAnne Pope of Minnesota; and his beloved nephew, Adam Gustavson, son of Greer. He will also be dearly missed by many friends and extended family.

A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.

Chris will be remembered for his warmth, strength, compassion, and the music and laughter he brought into our lives.
