Christopher James Tornillo, 55 years old, born in Newton, New Jersey passed away April 9, 2023 after his battle with cancer. A memorial service for Chris will take place May 20, 2023 2:00 PM at Netherwood Park Church of Christ. There will be a celebration of life following the services that will be held also at the church. Chris requested that in lieu of flowers, that you make a donation to Daisy Farm Sanctuary. How to make that donation will be listed below.
Chris attended Rutgers University and graduated in 1992 with his master’s degree in mechanical engineering. His career began with Caterpillar (CAT) and he continued to build a name for himself. Cummins was where he made his home, 20 years working with amazing people. Chris loved spending time down at Elephant Butte Lake, making memories, exploring the terrain on his ATV’s and Razor’s. As much as he loved the lake, his love of all animals was close to his heart. He supported and encouraged many rescues and shelters across New Mexico.
Chris was preceded in death by his Mother Jean Louise Cassell and left behind his father James Christopher Tornillo, his two loves Peanut and Little Russy, his sister Tonya Munding-Dixon, and his partner Bill McNutt. His friends and loved ones are in the thousands as he was always willing to help anyone with anything. Please join us to celebrate and remember Chris, as his final wish was to make it a day “all about him”.
