Chuck S. Morgan

Morgan, Chuck Stephen Chuck Morgan died December 14, 2012, at his Rio Rancho home in the arms of his cherished wife Susi and surrounded by his family. He passed away after a long struggle with mesothelioma. A long-time resident of New Mexico, he was born in Oklahoma to Milo and Tuffy Morgan September 24, 1950 and grew up in Ponca City. He married the love of his life, Susi, May 25, 1975, in Las Vegas, NM, where they both graduated from New Mexico Highlands University. He was proud of Susi�s talents as an artist and started having a painting studio built for her this year. Chuck was passionate about cars and NASCAR racing, and in his last year, built his dream garage and got his lovingly restored yellow 1949 Chevy pickup truck on the road. His favorite relaxation was fishing in the Platoro Reservoir on the Conejos River in Colorado. In June, Chuck welcomed a new grandson, Milo, named after Chuck�s father, and watched with pride as his older grandson Korbin collected a record number of home runs this year for his baseball team. Chuck was famous among his friends for his hilarious stories told with self-deprecating humor in his Oklahoma drawl. He was a biologist and worked for the state environmental department before his illness. Chuck is survived by his wife of 38 years Susi; daughters, Vanessa Garcia and her husband Michael, and Caitlin Whitten and her husband Kirk; grandsons Korbin Garcia and Milo Whitten; a sister Jan See and her daughter Risa; brothers Chris Morgan and Phil Morgan; nephew Reid Morgan and his wife Jill; cousin Butch Behar; and many friends, including the Las Tusas group with whom he camped, partied, laughed and swapped stories for the last 40 years. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services � Sara Rd. Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
