Clarence Henry Exon, 86, of Farmington, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011. He was born on March 15, 1925, to Henry and Myrtle Exon in Mancos, CO. He graduated from Mancos High School after living in Mancos all of his life. Clarence attended Fort Lewis College for 2-3 years. He met and married Bonnie in 1950 in Farmington. They were happily married for 61 years lacking two days. Clarence worked at the Vanadium Plant in Durango for three years. He moved to Farmington and began working for the city power plant and continued his career there for 33 1/2 years. After retiring in 1987, he resumed his passion for playing pool that he learned as a child in Mancos. Some of his other hobbies included nature-watching, jewelry-making, photography, coin collecting and walking his dogs. Clarence was the “best ever” husband, brother, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Myrtle Exon; Brothers, Bob (Enid) Exon; brother-in-law, Wayne Eaton; and sister, Rozella (Bill) Morrie. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Jean (Flora) Exon; son, Henry (Debbie) Exon; daughters, Marcia (Gene) Allen, Ramona (Tom) Bussard, Rebecca Exon; brothers, Dewey (Jana) Exon; sisters, Lorene Eaton, Wilma (Homer) Hartley, and Neva (Jim) Gagnebin; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren Funeral service will beat 10:00 am, Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington with Pastor Robert Foster officiating. Interment will be at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango, CO at 3:00 pm.
