Clark Spencer, 87, resident of Monte Vista, Colorado and Corrales, New Mexico, went to his eternal rest on April 10, 2021 at the home of his daughter in Corrales, NM, with his family by his side.
Clark made a grand entrance into this world January 4, 1934 to David W. Spencer and Goldie Irene (Bailey) Spencer and was delivered at home by the town midwife, Mable Hawman – a strong woman born before her time, and an angel to the Spencer family. Valued ties to the Hawman family remain to this day.
Survivors include his daughters Vickie (Arthur) McConnachie of Corrales, NM, Sally (Ron) Wert of Monte Vista, CO, and Mary Ellen (Don) Pannell of Chester, OK. The sparkle of his life, his grandchildren: Gina, Robert, Lonnie, Nick, Shad, Bennett, LaVonda, Shannon and Will (the glue that holds our family together), 23 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Audrey Spencer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dale and Albert, and sisters Dorothy, Marie, Bessie and Ellabelle, and his son and pride of his life, David Dwight Spencer.
Cremation was chosen and a private service will be held later this summer.
We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff of Hospice of New Mexico and Hospice del Valle, in Alamosa, Colorado. The support they provided is priceless. We are eternally grateful for the collaboration that the two organizations gave to our unique situation. God bless you folks!
