Claudia Fay Harris departed this life on December 28, 2008, at her home in La Plata, New Mexico. Fay was born on February 28, 1919, in Aztec, New Mexico to J.M. Keeney and Faustina McClain Keeney. She married the love of her life, John E. Harris, on April 29, 1936. They were married for 67 years, until his death September 11, 2003. Fay and John lived at La Plata, New Mexico for their entire married life. They raised Hereford cattle and farmed throughout their life together. Fay was a dedicated homemaker, mother, grandmother and wife. Known for "cooking from scratch" and homemade pies, she enjoyed every moment she spent loving and caring for her extended family. She was an ardent supporter of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Fay was also active as a 4-H leader and member of the Eastern Star. She was very active in the ranching and farming business with John, as well as enjoying and supporting John in his mule racing endeavors. Fay is survived by her three sons, Bill (Helen) of La Plata; Bob (Kelly) of Indian Springs, NV; and Mike (Carol) of La Plata; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grancchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John E. Harris in 2003, and her daughter Claudine Harris in 1986. Fay's nephew, Leon Keeney will give the eulogy. Pallbeareres will be Michael Harris, Rob Harris, Ty Harris (grandsons), Norman Faver, Ron Baird and Ed Blancett. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Knight, Bob Jennings, Mike Hayes, Richard Blancett, Paul Robinson, Stephen McCarty and Wayne Dallas.
