Clayton Lee Henderson was born August 7, 1922 in Muskegon, Michigan and died March 26, 2018. He spent his early life pursuing a career in the Air Force. He served in WWII as a bomber pilot flying many heroic missions. During the war he met the love of his life, Pierrette, in France. They married and raised three daughters. After a long career he retired as a Lt. Colonel and brought his family to Corrales, New Mexico. He enjoyed another long career at Sandia National Labs. Upon retirement he and his wife traveled the world, enjoying other cultures. In New Mexico he was able to really live out his great love of animals of all kinds, especially horses. Clay will be remembered as a kind, generous man and the original optimist. He was loved tremendously and will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his wife Pierrette and daughter Carmen. Survived by daughters Monique Riley, Jeanine Houk and grandchildren; Jamie, Nicole, Andrei, and April and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 29, 2018 at 10:00 am at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
