Clinton Malcolm Winfield Jr.

Clinton M. Winfield Jr. went home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the young age of 65.  Clinton Jr. was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on Tuesday, December 9, 1958 to the late Clinton M. Winfield Sr. and Floretta D. Winfield.  He was the oldest of five male children.

As a young man, Jr. was a Cub and Boy Scout.  He played a variety of junior high and senior high school sports. Even though he started high school in Aviano, Italy, he graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, NM in 1977.  After high school, Jr. followed in his father’s footsteps and enlisted in the United States Air Force.  As a Military Police Officer, he served in the military with honor. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force in September 1981.

Clinton met Carolyn Ross in June 1980 and the two married in December 1980. This union was blessed with Tameka Ross, Marion F. Winfield, and Clinton M. Winfield III. After the resolution of marriage, he met Tina Hererra and had 2 children, Michael Hererra and Malcom Winfield.  Later in life, Clinton Married Cornelia Tso. From this marriage, they had 2 children, Andrew Winfield and Danielle Winfield.

After leaving the military, Clinton worked for the State of New Mexico as a prison guard at the Santa Fe Maximum Security Jail for several years. He also worked several managerial jobs for businesses around the area.  His last employment from 2011 -2015 was working as a Lead Support Staff at a disability house for special needs adults. In November 2015, Clinton Jr. suffered a significant stroke leaving him unable to work and was able to receive early retirement from the Social Security Administration. 

Clinton Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton M. Winfield Sr. (2018). & Floretta Darby Winfield (2014); his brother, Calvin U. Winfield (1992), his son, Clinton M. Winfield III (1982), Michael Hererra (2011) and Tameka Ross (2020).

He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his brothers: Goulton Winfield, Angelo Glenn Winfield, Michael Eugene Winfield; his Children: Marion F. (Winfield)Carter, Andrew Winfield, Malcolm Winfield, and Danielle Winfield. And Grandchildren: Jeremiah Winfield, Tyron Kent Denetclaw-Benally, Zorena Empress Shaw-Hasting, plus his aunties, Carol Colston, Berthella Curtis, uncle Herbert Winfield and all of his cousins and in-laws. In addition to all of his friends.

The viewing will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 10:00 am at Daniel’s Family Funeral Home 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. The service will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 11:00 am.  Clinton Jr. will be laid to rest in Santa Fe National Cemetery following the service.
