Conception Connie Chavez

Conception "Connie" Chavez Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Friday, July 12, 2013 at the age of 100. She was born in San Marcial, New Mexico to Emilio and Juanita Torrez. Conception adored her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed baseball, watching the Dukes or Diamond Backs. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Samuel Chavez, Sr.; children Albita Bruno and Samuel Chavez, Jr. Conception is survived by children Selfita McCollum, Sally Sanchez and husband Orlando "Mickey" Gabaldon, Lorraine Smith and husband Vincent; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. Conception will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Garcia Chapel of Angles, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a reciting of the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 301 Stover Ave SW, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 10:00 am; Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE. Pallbearers are Moses Santiago, Sr., Patrick Sanchez, Alex Guran, Jordan Santiago, Dyon Santiago and Moses Santiago, Jr. Honorary Bearers are Mickey Gabaldon and Vincent Smith.
