Connie L. McElheney

Connie McElheney passed peacefully in her sleep on January 19, 2017. Connie was born in 1932 to Donato and Epimenia Lucero in the small town of San Jose, New Mexico, and raised in Raton. After graduating from Trinidad Junior College she moved to Albuquerque to pursue her career in advertising, where she met her late husband of 29 years, Bob McElheney. Together they opened McElheney Advertising Agency, and ran it for 18 years.

She is survived by her four sisters, Stella, Tillie, Angie and Cora; her children, Caryl, Cheryl, Bob and Don; her daughters-in-law, Jennifer Swanson and Dr. Tara Harmon-McElheney; and her grandchildren, Holly, Kevin, Madeline and Adrienne.

Connie was a devoted Catholic and member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. She loved attending and watching sports, especially Lobo basketball, where she and her husband were season ticket holders since 1966. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, reading, cooking, laughing and spending time with her family.  

A rosary will be said Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 7:00 pm, at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Wyoming Chapel located at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8:30 am on January 25, 2017 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church located at 2532 Vermont St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110,

Interment will follow the mass at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
