Consuelo Teresina Trujillo

      After a long illness, Consuelo Teresina Gonzales Trujillo passed away on November 27, 2023. She was born in Clayton, New Mexico (1938) to Canuto and Carlota Gonzales who lived on a small ranch in Bueyeros, New Mexico. The family moved to Roy, New Mexico (1945), where Connie attended public school, graduating Salutatorian and representing Roy High School at the prestigious American Legion Auxiliary Girls State, a hands-on government educational program for high school students. She graduated in 1956 and that same year she married Albert Trujillo.

     The couple eventually moved to Albuquerque where Consuelo held positions at Albuquerque National Bank, Sandia National Laboratories, Social Security Administration and Boeing Industries in New Orleans. Consuelo and Albert moved to Louisiana (1962-1964) while Albert served in the United States Army. In the early 70s the couple returned to Roy for four years, where she was the elected Harding County Treasurer.

      Consuelo was a loving and caring human being who played an important role in helping her parents raise her four younger sisters, urging them always to be responsible and reach for the stars. Consuelo and Albert raised two beautiful and admirable children, Mark Trujillo and Marlene Trujillo Meyer. Consuelo was preceded in death by her parents Canuto and Carlota, her husband Albert, and her daughter Marlene. She is survived by her son Mark, her grandchildren, Santiago (Elizabeth), Estevan (Ashley), and Marisol Meyer (Tybur) and four sisters, Erlinda Gonzales-Berry (Ed), Cecilia Gonzales de Tucker (Richard), María Dolores Gonzales, Gloria Gonzales and ten nephews and nieces; Maya Gonzales Berry, Jeremiah, Carlos & Diego Tucker, Damián & Rafael Velásquez, Pilar, Joaquín, Giovanna & Santino Garofalo.

Burial will be held December 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm; Fairview Memorial Cemetery, 700 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
