Zierer, Consuelo "Connie" Viola
Consuelo Viola "Connie" (Ulibarri) Zierer, 88, born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on June 18, 1927 passed into our Lord’s eternal care on September 29, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years John Paul Zierer, sons, Gregory Paul and John Joseph, brother, Joseph Ulibarri, sister, Josie Valdez, brother-in-law, Manuel Valdez, brother, Mitzie Ulibarri, sister-in-law, Gloria Ulibarri, parents, Napoleon and Gregorita Ulibarri and friends too numerous to count.
She is survived by her sons, Mark and wife Desiree Zierer, Daniel and wife Teri Zierer, granddaughter, Bea Otwell, sister-in-law, Mary Ulibarri and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In the years by her husband’s side she lived on the island of Okinawa, Japan, in England, in Spain and many places in the U.S. As a registered nurse she volunteered at a leper colony in Okinawa and worked in hospital, which treated wounded soldiers from the Vietnam War. She was a woman of compassion and strength. She was a devout Catholic and founding member of the Church of the Risen Savior and Sacristan there for many years. Of her passions, her friends and crocheting were at the top of the list. She was a graduate of Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Risen Savior Catholic Community. Inurnment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
