Corinn Anette Moret "Cam", age 94, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016. She was born December 13, 1921 in Murray County, Fenton Township, Minnesota. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1939, and then studied bookkeeping for another 2 years.
She was the first woman in her local area to join the WAAC in 1943; the next year she was involved with the Conversations at Dunbarton Oaks and received a letter of thanks from the Under Secretary of State, Edward Reilly Stettinius Jr. Cam continued to work as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1984.
Cam loved her Lord Jesus, whom she came to know as a young girl after attending a youth event. She attended church regularly and continued to develop her relationship with Him. She moved to New Mexico in the fifties and joined Grace Church where she declared her faith in Jesus by being baptized at the old Grace Church basement baptistery on Cedar Street. Cam developed close friendships during this time, which would later bring her back to Albuquerque. Cam and her friend June Enstrom moved to Glendale, California where she was a bookkeeper for a jeweler. During this time she also cared for her dad and her friend June, who had lost her sight, until their deaths. After her retirement she returned to her friendships in New Mexico and settled down to stay.
As a member of Grace Church she was very involved with many ministries of the church. She kept the church food cupboard stocked for the hungry, organized pray partners for the youth , and participated in several missionary prayer groups.
She enjoyed spending time with friends in the mountains, at retreats, and going out to lunch. She followed her favorite sports teams faithfully and looked forward to her weekly conversations with relatives. Cam also kept her mind sharp till the end by working word puzzles and reading the scriptures daily.
Cam would be the first to admit she was not perfect. She, like most of us, struggled with wanting her own way and being careless with her words. But she was always tender toward her Lord and would work at keeping those accounts short and her weaknesses in check. She looked forward to the day Jesus would send His chariot for her.
She valued her friendships greatly and wanted to continue her relationships beyond this world so she often would ask “do you know the Lord Jesus as your savior?” If your answer is “Yes” then be assured that relationship will continue beyond the grave.
Cam was proceeded in death by her parents, Nick Moret and Jennie Top Moret, her sister Myrna, and her brothers Edward, Marlyn and Nick Jr. She is survived by her sister in law Arlene Moret , and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She will also be missed by many who knew her as Grandma Cam.
Cam is a happy woman who finished her race strong.
A private interment was held at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 2, 2016, 4:00 p.m., at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio NE, 87109
