ST. JOHN �?¯�?¿�?½�?¯�?¿�?½“ Cristobal St.John, 78, passed away on Saturday April 3, 2010. He was born in Carrizozo, NM on September 27, 1931 to Lell St. John and Placida Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Martha Moya, Brothers Julio St.John and Arturo St.John and sisters Dolores Gallegos and Virginia Benavides. He is survived by his daughters Karen St.John-Clark, Valerie St.John, Christina St. John-Griffith and Judy St.John. Brothers Henry Espinosa, Richard Espinosa, Samuel St. John, Rafael St.John, Rey St.John. Sisters Gloria Moore, Lydia St. John Mellado-St. John, Loretta Lopez, Belen St.John-Ballesteros. Grandchildren Jacqueline Sain, Robert Edmondson, Chris St.John, Matthew St.John, Levi Griffith, Marc St.John, Elena Kent, Nicole Griffith-Belding, Kelly Dougherty, and Lauren Morrow. Great-grandchildren Briana St.John, Hailey Tushka, Jonathan Tushka, Maya Tushka, Andrew Edmondson, Daryl Edmondson, Aidan St.John, Austin St.John, Caleb St.John, Christopher St.John, and Victoria St.John. Chris attended St. Mary’s High School in Albuquerque. Chris was proud to represent Albuquerque as a Golden Gloves Champion. He attended the University of California-Berkeley and the University of NM. Chris was proud to serve in the US Navy from 1948-1952, was a Korean War veteran, and received the Purple Heart. He was All Navy Boxing champion. Chris was a member of the Hispano Chamber of Commerce, and a proud member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, and Optimists Club. Chris had a distinguished, 40-year career in banking in Albuquerque, serving as President of Plaza National Bank, Vice President of Bank of New Mexico, and Vice President of Bank of Albuquerque, and was Past President of the American Institute of Banking. Chris was a champion of lending to people in the community to help them accomplish their dreams. Chris was man of honor and integrity. He will be greatly missed.
