Cruz Duarte Hernandez

Cruz Duarte Hernandez, age 94, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020. He was born in San Bernardino, CA on April 14, 1926, to Magalino and Petra  Hernandez. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hilda  Hernandez; father, Magalino Hernandez; mother, Petra Hernandez; great-granddaughter, Aariana Marie Olea.

Cruz is survived by daughters, Priscilla Fiege and husband, Bob of Rio Rancho, NM, and Gloria Hernandez of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Richard Hernandez and wife, Elaine of CA, and Steven Hernandez and wife, Stephanie of CA.

Cruz was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. For his years of service he received the Army of Occupation Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, and WWII Victory Medal. He was an avid hunter, fisher and loved traveling. He worked in both the TV repair, and trucking industries for 40 plus years. He was a member of Teamsters, and the Rio Rancho Veterans Coffee Club. He was know to support many charitable organizations including those that support Veterans, Law Enforcement, and the NRA. 

Cruz married the love of his life, Hilda (Navarrete) Hernandez in July of 1950. They built a beautiful life together. In their 66 years together they had four children, eight grand-children, and eleven great-grandchildren. His legacy, and love will forever live on through them. 

The family would like to send a special thank you to Tres Hermanas, and Hospice De La Luz. 

Memorial services will be celebrated on October 12, 2020, at 1:00pm, at Daniel's Family Funeral - Sara Road Chapel. Burial will take place directly following service.

Cruz will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
