May, Cynthia Xenelle Age 77, passed away 16 May 2013. Cynthia was born 19 January 1936 in Stillwater, OK to E.X. and Marie (Ames) Burns who have preceded her in death. She was the oldest of three children. Cynthia's father was a civil engineer, and the family lived in several different cities in Oklahoma, as well as Amarillo, TX; where she graduated from high school in 1956. Cynthia followed her parents to Albuquerque. She worked 15 years in the broadcasting/advertising field, 26 years as a civil service employee for the United States Air Force and several years at Valley Christian Church. In 1958 she married Floyd Spires and had two daughters. He died in 1966. In 1974 she married Edward May and they combined her two daughters and his daughter and son into one family. Even though they had no children of their own, they happily shared their nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Cynthia's hobby was genealogy; and she enjoyed planning family reunions and compiling genealogies on the Ames, Shreck, Burns, Spires, May and Page families. She was a member of the New Mexico Genealogical Society. Cynthia was a charter member of Valley Christian Church. Cynthia is survived by husband, Edward L. May; daughters Bethamy and her husband Randy Barringer, Mary Jane and husband Donald Wetterman; Ed's daugher Angela Dunn and son Edward May II. In addition to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Helen Griffith and brother Rex Burns, she will be missed by many cousins. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 21 May 2013, 10:00 am, at Valley Christian Church, 2850 Gun Club Rd. SW 87105.
