Dale Boudreault – Obituary (October 19, 1956 – March 2, 2024)
It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Dale William Keith Boudreault announces his passing on March 2nd, 2024 at the age of 67 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dale was dearly loved by his family and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. He is predeceased by his late father, Albert and younger brother, Daniel (Danny) and is survived by his family in Canada: mother Alice Boudreault of Fredericton, NB; his siblings Judy Lett (Mike Nash) of Prince George, BC, Douglas Boudreault (Barb) of Edmonton, AB, and Joanne Jury (Art) of Hanwell, NB; his Aunts Jean Clelland (St. Albert,AB), Aunt Dorothy Petty (Red Deer, AB), Aunt Louise Boudreault (Edm,AB); many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family; and his dear friends.
Dale grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, but headed south in 1997, first to Texas and in 1999 to Albuquerque, where he resided until his passing. As a registered nurse for the past 25 years, Dale worked in several hospitals and provided compassionate care to others. Over the years, Dale made many lifetime friendships. A couple of his golf and hockey buddies in Albuquerque called themselves the 3 Musketeers, but sadly now they are only two.
Although his family were distanced geographically, they enjoyed many special family events, visits and vacations with Dale and will treasure those memories. Doug and Barb cherish the memory of several golf trips to New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona with Dale. They recall fondly, as all who knew Dale will appreciate, how much fun they had, but also how he lost golf clubs and misplaced his wallet, numerous times. Judy fondly recalls how although he would seldom call, he would often just “show up” on the step and stay awhile, never shying away from helping with whatever might be needed. More recently, we had a wonderful time visiting with him in Albuquerque, and he really seemed to enjoy touring us around his city, and the charming Sanat Fe, to the north. He also visited the Georgia O’Keefe Museum with me there, which really made my day.
The family wishes to thank his director and all his fantastic work colleagues at the University of New Mexico Hospital for their loving care and attention. We also want to recognize the ER and ICU team at UNM for their empathy and the amazing care he received. A heartfelt thanks also to his friends Sarah, Gary, and Walt for providing assistance to his family at this difficult time. Dale’s ashes will rest in Fredericton, NB where his mom and sister live and will be interred at the family plot, alongside his brother Danny. A Celebration of life will take place later in Canada.
Dale, you will be greatly missed, but will be forever in our hearts.
Rest in peace…We love you!
