Dane Christopher Houghton Munk
With many unfinished adventures, Dane, 22, left this world on March 13, 2017.  Dane was born and raised in New Mexico and graduated from Rio Rancho High School.  He lived with Cerebral Palsy, and contributed every day to those around him through his resiliency, perseverance and optimism.  Dane’s laugh and smile, which reflected his indomitable spirit, would bring love and light to any room.  He loved to swim, ski, ride horses and dance with help from his friends.  He is survived by his parents, Lewis Munk and Perrianne Houghton, brother Eric Munk and Grandmother Anne Doele Curran. His loving extended family includes his Grandma Peggy Houghton, four aunts, five uncles, and twelve cousins, scattered across the country in Massachusetts, Arizona, Utah, Alaska, Washington, North Carolina, and South Carolina.  He also left behind many therapists, teachers, and care givers who became part of his family.  In lieu of flowers please donate to the Santa Fe Adaptive Ski Program, Mandy’s Farm, or Keshet Dance Company. A memorial gathering will be held on April 8th.  We will be meeting at 9:00 a.m. feel free to show up at your convenience.  At 9:30 we will do a short reading of our favorite stories and memories of Dane.  Anyone who would like to speak is welcome and encouraged. The gathering will be held at Cottonwood School at 3896 Corrales Road, Corrales, NM 87048.
