Barrow, Daniel Born April 6, 1950 in Clovis, NM to Burnis and Peggy Barrow. He passed away on April 6, 2014 in Albuquerque after a sudden and unexpected illness. Dan is survived by his wife, Virginia Anthony Barrow of Albuquerque; daughter Sashua Patton, her husband Josh of Roswell and their children JJ and Stazja; granddaughter Avril Coleman of Wylie, TX; brother Terry Barrow, his wife Nancy of Clovis and their children Lisa and Victoria; his brother Glen Barrow, his wife Sherry of Ruidoso and their children Thomas and Chase; brother-in-law Frank Anthony; nieces Edel and Caneel Anthony; numerous cousins and countless special friends. Dan was predeceased by his parents and his son, Justin Gidney. Dan touched the hearts and lives of hundreds of people across the country throughout the course of his life. He served on the American Massage Therapy Association national board of directors, and the New Mexico state chapter. He was a renowned neuromuscular therapist and instructor and served on the Massage Therapy licensing board. Friends say Dan was �absolutely marvelous and one of the great men of his time. Compassionate.� Dan was a great lover of music and art and worked to create the Ruidoso Community Little Theatre where he acted and directed for 17 years in numerous productions, mentoring many young actors. He worked with and loved kids. Dancing was one of Dan�s passions-he was an avid and accomplished country-western dancer. A collector of bolo ties and cowboy boots, Dan was a man of style. He was a wine sommelier and connoisseur. Dan was comfortable in any environment. Driving a tractor was one of the many things Dan learned to do while he was growing up in eastern New Mexico. He was a bibliophile and a fearsome player of 42 and 88. Loving the outdoors and rigorous physical activity, he was a water skier, snow skier, and rock climber who practiced yoga every morning for 46 years. He was very politically involved and actively worked to bridge differences by bringing commonalities to light. With an eye for beauty and culture, he became a photographer and world traveler. Dan and Virginia were married in 1999 in Geneva, Switzerland and spent their honeymoon in Florence, Italy, South of France and Paris. Eager adoption of all things technological led to his nickname, �Techno-Dan.� He loved the sun, his dog Alex, his beehives, and his wife, and he will be sorely missed. A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Saturday, April 12th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 pm at Daniel�s Family Funeral Services Carlisle Reception Center, 3113 Carlisle NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
