Daniel T. Higgins

Higgins, Daniel T. Age 63, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012. Mr. Higgins was born on August 25, 1949 to Thomas and Audrey (Rubnich) Higgins of Peoria, Illinois. He was employed by Xerox as a Graphic Communication SSE. He was a veteran of the US Army receiving the National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign, Army Commendation, and Good Conduct Medals, as well as the Expert Badge for the M-14 and M-16 rifles. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Mr. Higgins was always smiling and easily made lots of friends. His hobbies included golfing, darts, playing bass guitar. He was an Oakland Raiders fan as well as a St. Louis Cardinals fan. His proudest moments were his marriage to his wife, Deb, the birth of his son, Daniel, and watching him grow into the fine young man he is today. He is survived by his adoring wife and best friend of over 26 years, Deborah "Deb" (Berg) Higgins of Rio Rancho, NM; son, Daniel T. Higgins II of Rio Rancho, NM; father, Thomas Higgins, of Peoria, IL; siblings, Nanette Russell, Mark Higgins, Carla Heuermann, and Michelle Mendenhall; sister-in-law, Susan Poythress; and many nieces, nephews and friends who love and adore him. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho. Additional services will be held in Peoria, IL at a later date.
