Darrell Wendell Garrett

Darrell Wendell Garrett age 51 passed away August 10, 2018 in Oakland, California.

Born on November 16, 1966 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Daniel and Lucy Garrett. He is survived by his only son, Jordan Israa’eel Garrett; his sister Cathy Renée Garrett; a niece, Andrea Nicole Davis; and many cousins and relatives.

Darrell spent his early childhood in Brooklyn and his teen years in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He completed his baccalaureate degree in Architecture at the University of California - Berkeley and his Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University. He then went on to found businesses in construction project management software, author a published book, and successfully raise his son as a single father. Darrell’s last position as a project manager with Habitat for Humanity fulfilled his childhood dream of building homes.

A small celebration of life as a potluck picnic will take place at the Marina Bay Park in Richmond, California on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2pm. All are welcome. Please bring chairs.
