David Laurence Ashley

Ashley, David L.

Age 70, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018. He was born in Westbrook, ME. on June 2, 1947, to John and Helen Ashley.

David graduated in 1965 from Casco High School in Portland ME. After completing high school he enlisting in the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He attended the NCO Academy and he received the AF Commendation Medal and the National Service Medal. David married Gloria L. Raylots on April 12, 1969 in Barksdale AFB, LA. They were happily married for 49 years. He worked for Tri-Core Labs and the VA for almost 19 years. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, drawing, WWII and Civil War history, politics, reading and his pets. He was member of Knights of Columbus and Church of the Incarnation. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elaine Ward.

David is survived by wife, Gloria Ashley; sons, Dave (Kate) Ashley of Santa Fe, NM and Michael (Elizabeth) Ashley of England; daughter, Barbara (Ken) Orosco of Taylor Ranch, NM; grandsons, Niklaus Orosco and Luke Ashley; granddaughter, Claire Ashley; sisters, Carol Ashley (Ed) Courduff of Homosassa, FL. and Sharon Ashley (Robert) Staly of Springvale, ME; pets, Sophia and Toby Tyler.

Visitation will take place at Church of Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd. NE, Rio Rancho, NM from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday, March 19, 2018 with Rosary to follow until 7:00 PM.

Funeral Mass will be held on, Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Church of Incarnation at 11:00 AM.
