David Harris Beddingfield

March 8, 1963 — March 27, 2016

Beddingfield, David Harris
On March 27, 2016, David Harris Beddingfield unexpectedly passed from this world. He was in the comfort of his own home in Jemez Springs. His wife Lori Birkholz, his mother Audrey Adam Brooks, his father George Walter Beddingfield and his sister Linda(Warren) Waddell, and his nieces Sara (Rick) Stansbury, and Naomi Waddell, as well as many family and friends will miss him.
Loving David was a great adventure. He was man of huge and varied interests. He loved science, living in his log cabin in the Jemez Mountains, a variety of music from classical to folk to rock, and embracing other cultures, as well as their cuisine and libations. And on any given day you might find him in an old bookstore exploring the classics or peddling his bicycle from beer hut to beer hut in Vienna. He was masterful at bringing people together and was fearless in making friends in spite of cultural and language differences. He did nothing half way. He enjoyed and explored life to its fullest.
Born March 8th 1963 in Hampton Virginia, David spent part of his early childhood in Germany, moving eventually to Wisconsin. He completed his undergraduate degree at UW Madison, then earned his master’s degree and PHD at Colorado School of Mines. He was a Nuclear Materials Safeguards expert at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He made contributions working with multiple agencies in Japan, served the United States for 2 years with Department of Energy in Washington D.C. and also for 5 years with the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria.
In lieu of flowers, David would have preferred donations be made in his memory to the Jemez Springs Helping Hands. These contributions will continue his tradition of giving back to the community which he loved.  The contact information is:  Jemez Helping Hands P.O.
