Deacon Kenneth L. Hill

October 16, 1942 — October 14, 2013

Hill, Kenneth Leo Passed at the age of 70 in Albuquerque, NM on October 14th, 2013. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a long battle with liver cancer. Ken was born on October 16th, 1942 in Albuquerque, New Mexico the son of Robert and Frieda Hill. He was the youngest of four brothers; Keith Hill, Hershel Hill, and Raymond Hill. Ken attended Valley High School and graduated in 1960. He married Beatrice Abeyta in March 1966. He has five daughters; Alicia Gutierrez, Doreen Breuninger, Christine Lujan, Pauline Hill-Downing, and Amy Jungwirth. He has 16 grandchildren. Ken moved his family to Rapid City, SD in January of 1984 and was ordained a Deacon at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in 1994. He returned to Albuquerque in 1997 and served at St. Thomas Aquinas Church for the past fifteen years as a counselor, and head coordinator of the Pre-Cana, and Marriage Enrichment programs. His favorite pastime was fishing. He spent a great deal of his time trying to impart his passion for fishing in his daughters. Consequently, he became the sole baiter of fish hooks and retriever of fish, this led to very few fish caught by him. He was a loving husband and father, a great friend and the best Donald Duck impersonator. He will be sorely missed by everyone. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am with the Mass following at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A Reception will follow the Mass in the Parish Hall of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Daniels Family Funeral Services 4310 Sara Road SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124 505-892-9920
