Dean F. Ramaeker

August 22, 1941 — November 10, 2016

Dean F. Ramaeker born in Joliet, IL August 22, 1941. Survived by his wife Jeanne Ramaeker and younger brother Gary Ramaeker. Passed the evening of November 10th in Rio Rancho, NM.
To put it simple, Dean was a man who loved many and who was loved by many. He had a loving wife, four beautiful children, eight beloved grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren with another on the way, who looked to him for words of wisdom and a good belly laugh. He was such a positive and optimistic person who loved the Lord and had a strong love for life. He was considered to be the ultimate host. Every person who crossed his threshold entered into an experience beyond what they could have ever imagined. Climbing rocks, going up mountains, feeding roadrunners, dancing with the Navajo Indians, flying in hot air balloons, going for a hike to find arrowheads, and so much more. Never a dull moment at the Ramaeker house. Nothing seemed impossible when Dean was around.
He had a heart of gold that beat for everyone he knew. He inspired many to be better versions of themselves. He was the man you saw walking through the neighborhood picking up trash, giving treats to the neighborhood dogs and checking in on his neighbors to make sure they were well taken care of. He was an incredibly devoted husband who would do anything to see his lovely wife smile. He was very family oriented and loved spending every spare moment swinging his kids up high on the tire swing. He taught his kids as well as his grandkids to be considerate and respectful of all others and to always have courage in what you do and be kind as you do it, and to never give up.
He was someone who could always get you to smile or laugh, no matter what your mood. When there was some shenanigans going on or some crazy games being played, all fingers were pointed to him to blame for all the fun. He always had a game to play or an adventure to take you on. He was overgrown kid.
He was a man of integrity who always fought for what he believed was right. He loved his country and always thought the best of people. He will be greatly missed every day.
