DeAnna Bekis Begay

Our beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother, DeAnna Begay, 35, of Kirtland, passed away on Nov. 25, 2010, at the Swedish Medical Center in Denver. She was born May 21, 1975, in Shiprock, to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Begay. She later moved to Idaho with the love of her life, Vernon Peters, after she completed her schooling in Albuquerque. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Peters, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Denetdale, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Begay, Grandma Gladys Denetdale, Aunts, Bertha Manning and Grace Toledo, her Uncle Albert Emerson and cousin Bonita Tsosie. She is survived by her children, Styels and Kria Peters; her parents, Howard and Helen Begay; sisters, Hannah Begay, Jill Yazzie, Holly Begay and Hazel Begay: and brother, Bruce Deschilly. She had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a granddaughter with a great number of extended family and very special friends. Graveside inurnment services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 6, at Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery, in Kirtland. Pastor Perry Shorty will officiate. We would like to extend a special thanks to the Swedish Medical Center staff in Denver for the wonderful care and compassion they gave DeAnna and the many prayers friends and family have offered and helped with.
