Deborah Campbell

Deborah Ann "Debbie" (Savage) Campbell, 68, of Rio Rancho, NM and formerly of Aurora and Wauconda, IL passed into Heaven early on Saturday October 15^th, 2022 at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho from complications of diabetes. She was a 26-year resident of Rio Rancho along with her husband Bruce.

She is survived by her husband Bruce Sr. of Rio Rancho NM; her son Bruce Jr (Jacklyn) of Yorkville, IL; her daughter Kirstie (Todd) Kump of Surprise, AZ; brother Greg (Lisa) Savage of Lewisville, NC; her beloved four grandchildren, Logan Campbell, Timothy Campbell, Emma Kump and Aidan Kump, plus multiple brothers in-law, sisters in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Christine Savage of Wauconda, IL; her two brothers, James and Jeff Savage also of Wauconda, IL; brother in-law Dan Campbell; sisters in-law Jill Campbell and Donna Campbell, plus several infant nieces and nephew.

A graduate of Wauconda High School and Patricia Stevens Finishing School, Debbie worked at Carson Pirie Scott in Waukegan, IL as a model and fashion consultant when she met her future husband Bruce roller skating in McHenry, IL. They were married in July 1973, just recently celebrating 49 years married and 50 years together.  

Debbie was employed by Loctite Corp for 14 years before moving to Rio Rancho.  Debbie enjoyed camping with family and dear friends Terry and Selma, hot air ballooning as “Slide", as well as going to the beach.

Debbie loved her grandchildren and enjoyed participating in their lives. She was an admired cook and baker, frequently sharing her soups and creations with family and friends. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She was a “Southern Girl”.

Our family is grateful to the Rio Rancho Fire & Rescue teams that came to our aid many times, and to the many wonderful staff doctors, nurses, techs, aides, EMT`s and workers at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center for their care and compassion to Debbie in her time of need.  Many thanks to you all.
