Denis Rivet

Denis, age 67, went peacefully to his heavenly home on October 4, 2021 at home.  Born in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada on February 18, 1954 to Adolphe J. and Jeannette R. (Fournier) Rivet. He grew up in Crystal Falls, Ontario Canada and moved to Socorro, New Mexico to join his love, Rose, and had a loving marriage of 20 years. 

Denis was known by relatives, friends, and strangers as a generous, loving person with a big heart. Denis loved to share his “dad” jokes and humorous stories with a twinkle in his eyes and an infectious laugh. He was a “jack of all trades'' and was always willing to help anyone in need without a complaint or hesitation.  Denis was an avid hockey fan, especially his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.

He deeply loved his family and friends. Denis is survived by his loving wife, Rose Baca-Rivet, his adoring children Greg Rivet of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; Sean Rivet of Pemberton, British Columbia; Rudi McMillan (Sam) of Socorro, NM; and Rebeca Reynolds (Jeff) of Albuquerque, NM. He will be sadly missed by his cherished granddaughters, Selene McLeod-Rivet, Aurelia and Rory Reynolds; and godson Eric Rivet. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers Robert (Carmen), Gabriel (Jacqueline), and Luc (Denise) Rivet; his sisters, Denise (Maurice) Moreau, Rachel (Ron) Richer, and Roxanne (Larry) Brunet; his brother-in-law Joey Baca (Linda); his sister-in-law Anne Rivet; his many nephews, nieces and other relatives; and his pets (Daisy and Coco). He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roger Rivet.

A celebration of Denis’ life will take place at Daniels’ Funeral chapel located at 309 Garfield Ave., Socorro, NM on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Burial services will be at the Théorêt-Bourgeois Funeral Home, 119 King St., West Nipissing, Ontario, Canada on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 12:00 pm.
