Dennis Clarence Gallegos of Socorro, New Mexico passed away on January 22, 2020 surrounded by family. Dennis was born on October 23, 1937, to his parents Andres and Libradita Gallegos.  Dennis married his beloved wife Amada (Amy) on June 23, 1958.  In their 61 years together, they were blessed with four children; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Dennis came from a large family and was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters and is survived by two sisters, Gloria Thais and Nellie Cardiel.  He leaves behind his wife Amada (Amy) and his children Dolores Haley (husband Joel), Dennis Gallegos (wife Tammie), Charles Gallegos (wife Michelle), Melynda Martinez (husband Chris) and sister-in-law Stella Piccinini (husband Bill). Dennis was a lifelong resident of Socorro. He attended and graduated from Socorro High School in 1957. He began a long and distinguished career with Land-Air/Dynalectron at White Sands Missile Range holding various positions starting right out of high school and retiring from upper-level management after 36 years of dedicated service. Dennis cared greatly for his community, his church, and his family. He believed it was his responsibility to give back when possible and proudly served his church, ran for public office serving on various commissions and boards while always prioritizing family. Dennis had many hobbies including an obsession for family genealogy, the stock market, and carrying on his father’s legacy of farming and ranching. Dennis enjoyed music and dancing and loved to show off his skills with his favorite dance partner, Amada (Amy). Dennis was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.  He was well respected, deeply loved and will most certainly live on in the hearts of all who had the good fortune of sharing time with him. In lieu of flowers, family has asked that donations be made to the Socorro Presbyterian Home Health and Hospice program in Dennis' honor. Rosary to be recited on Friday, January 31, 2020, at 7:00 pm at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro, New Mexico. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 10:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church with Father Hickman presiding. Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery  following service. Pallbearers will be Chris  Martinez, Gabe Martinez, Joel Haley, Kyle Haley, Bill Piccinini, John Gonzales.  Honorary pallbearers are Manny Pino, and Robert  Baca.
