81, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2015 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Magdalena, NM on March 1, 1933 to Margarito and Sofia (Apodaca) Torres. Diego was a lifelong resident of Magdalena. He was a very hard worker and jack of all trades. He was a skilled mechanic, miner, and wood logger. Diego enjoyed hunting with his sons and his brother. He was an excellent guitar player and taught many people how to play. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers; his sons, Billy; Billy Jr.; and Joe; his daughters, Joanne; and Helen; and his beloved wife, Betty (Chavez) Torres. Diego is survived by his children, Pat Apodaca; Dorothy Elysio; Sofie Leyba; Prudencia Case; Maria Torres; Diego "Diegito" Torres Jr.; and Mason Torres; his brother, Gilbert Torres; and many other loving family members and close friends. Grandpa Diego will also be greatly missed by all of his grandchildren. A graveside service and the inurnment will take place in the Magdalena Cemetery on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 12:00 pm with Deacon Caralous.
