Domenica M. Romero

ROMERO- Domenica M. Romero, 86, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, was called home to our Lord and Savior on December 16, 2009 with her loving family by her side. Ms. Romero was born on November 24, 1923 to Pete and Pilar (Sanchez) Montoya of Engle, NM. During her lifetime she had resided in Engle, Monticello, Truth or Consequences, Albuquerque, and Belen, NM. She was a cook for Albuquerque Public Schools for many years. Mrs. Romero was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and was a member of the Sacred Heart Society and the Legion of Mary. Every Christmas, except for this past year, she hosted the Posadas at her home with her daughter, Mary's, help. She was a regular rider on the city of Albuquerque's bus system. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo. Mrs. Romero was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur N. Romero; daughter, Bernadette Cruz; son, Arthur V. Romero; granddaughter, Anjanette Romero; and nephews, Tony Romero and Michael Romero. She is survived by her daughter, Mary J. Ramos and her husband, Nick, of Belen, NM; son, Joseph Romero and his wife, Martha, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Mary Lina Garcia and husband, Rick, Frances Ramos and fianc�?©e, Ignacio Castillo, Nick Ramos and wife, Elizabeth, Luciana Romero, Andrew Romero, Denise Apodaca and husband, Rafael, Themise Cruz and husband, Robert Ware, Jonathan Cruz; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Villalobos, Margaret-Ann Ramos, Nick M. Ramos, Rafael Apodaca, Jr., Angelica Apodaca, Hamza Abdullah, Mohammed Abdullah, Ali Abdullah, Amelia Abdullah, Brian Cruz, Christopher Cruz and Andres Cruz; siblings, Miquela Romero, Don Montoya and wife, Molly, Nancy Montoya, and Grace Vance; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will forever be touched by her devotion to the Lord and love for her family. Mrs. Romero's family is filled with gratitude for Belen's Ambercare employees. They provided loving care to Domenica and heartfelt support to her family in their time of need. The Rosary will be recited on Monday, December 21, 2009, at 6:00 PM at the home of Joseph & Martha Romero, 3110 Spur Court NW, Albuquerque, NM. The Celebration of Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 9:00 AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM.
