Dominic Curbis

Curbis died Jan. 1, 2011, in Jamestown. He was born July 20, 1921, in Radley, Kan. Curbis graduated from Gallup High in 1940. He retired from El Paso National Gas in 1982. Curbis joined the Navy on Dec. 30, 1941 and was discharged on Sept. 23, 1945. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include his son, Phil Curbis of Gallup; daughter, Dorie Havens of Gallup; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Curbis was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Curbis; brother, John Curbis. Pallbearers will be AJ Havens, Dominique Havens, Keylie Swoboda, Dominic Curbis, PJ Curbis, Shannon Curbis. The family will receive relatives and friends at 1420 Linda Drive, Gallup, following services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post 8, PO Box 629, Gallup, in memory of Dominic Curbis. Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
