Don S. Montoya

Montoya (Chano) (Donaciano) Don S. Went home to be with our Lord on February 10, 2013. He was born on March 15, 1928. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, nino, brother (Cooney), uncle, great-uncle, and friend to many people who loved him. He was a people person who loved to joke. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the casino and his family. He was a truck driver for 47 years (Bekins, Allied, CF). He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro, Pilar, and Adelina Montoya; brothers, Eziquiel and Benito Montoya; sister, Dominica Romero; granddaughter, Christine Montoya; one niece; two nephews and his best friend who was like a brother, Tim Vallejos. He is survived by his special love; his wife of 66 years, Molly. His children, Cecilia and late husband, Jack Zamora, Albert Montoya, Lucille and Carlos Montoya, Annette and late husband, Alex Chavez, Donna and late husband, Rick Salazar, Rebecca and Wedo Martinez (Godson), Cynthia Lopez, Roslynn Montoya and "adopted daughter" Amy Ruiz. His grandchildren, Renee, Marvin and Star, Janeen, Angela, Jolene, Alexander, Peter and Angela, Ericka, Jack Jr. and Lucinda, Rachel and Adam. His great-grandchildren, Jazmyn, Jayden, Mia, Christopher, Christian and Baby Zamora. His sisters, Miquela Romero, Nancy Montoya, and Grace Vance. His special brother-in-law, Alex Roybal and many nieces, nephews extended family and friends. A Rosary to be recited at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St. NW, Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 8:00 am followed by Mass of Christian burial 9:00 am; Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. He will be greatly loved and will be forever missed.
