On July 12 2016, Donald Jackson Boon, MD finished his earthly adventure and passed on to his next adventure with his Heavenly Father. Born in Chicago, Illinois May 9, 1937 to Clifton Udonna Boon, MD and Lila Jean Jackson Boon, Don is survived by his beloved wife Cheryl Boon, his daughters Diana J. Boon and Sharon M. Boon, his brother Gerald C. Boon, and his two step-children Christine J. Walker and William Clayton Walker. Grandchildren Kristopher Church and Danae Breshears. He is also survived by his beloved pups Skippy and Gabby. Don graduated from Purdue University and received his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago. He served honorably as a doctor in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam era. He practiced medicine in Springfield, Illinois and Albuquerque, NM. Don loved music. A lifelong United Methodist Church choir member, Don also played several musical instruments including the accordion as part of his volunteer work at several senior living community. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016, 11:00 AM at St. Stephens United Methodist Church, 4601 Juan Tabo NE. Memorial contributions may be send to St. Stephens United Methodist Church.
