Donald Lawrence Johnson

Donald Lawrence Johnson, 73, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, August 30, 2024. Born to James and Margaret Johnson on February 26, 1951, in Roswell, New Mexico, Don shared a special bond with his twin brother Ronald. Don graduated from Roswell High School and proudly served four years in the Air Force, earning an Honorable Discharge. He later settled in Anchorage, Alaska, where he was blessed with his beloved daughter, Chayna.

Don dedicated 15 years of his career to Providence Hospital before retiring and moving to Albuquerque to be closer to his brother. His family was the cornerstone of his life; he cherished every moment spent with them, particularly the joyful times he shared with his daughter and grandchildren. Don worked at The Merry Maids for five years before moving to California to care for his ailing mother. After her passing, he returned to Albuquerque and joined GBGLLC, forming lifelong friendships.

A man of many passions, Don was known for his love of basketball, often teasing his brother about showing him new moves on the court. A dedicated fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Lakers, he enjoyed watching games with his brother. He also found joy in music, earning the nickname "DJ Serious" and hosting numerous parties over the years.

Don is preceded in death by his father, James L. Johnson; his mother, Margaret Johnson; and his nephew, Adrian Johnson. He is survived by his twin brother, Ronald Johnson and his wife Sharon; his daughter, Chayna Johnson Carter; his grandchildren, Ameria Carter and twin sons Aiden and Avion Carter; and his nephews Richard Johnson, Chris Johnson, and Cheo Terrell; his niece Carin Johnson; along with a host of great nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Don's legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to family and friends will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
