Donna Garnand, born December 13, 1966 to Anita and William Alexander Garnand, passed away on February 4, 2024, at the age of 57. Donna was one of six siblings. Donna’s deepest aspirations led her to pursue a career in criminal justice, becoming a probation and parole officer known for achieving the lowest recidivism rate in the state of New Mexico. Her unwavering passion for helping others defined her character, as she selflessly gave to those in need. Donna’s caring nature extended beyond her professional life, as she touched the lives of many through her acts of kindness and generosity. Donna found strength in her work as a probation officer and later advocated for changing adoption laws in New Mexico for the better.
Even in death, Donna’s legacy of compassion endures as an organ donor, offering hope and life to others. She will be deeply missed. Donna is survived by her loving mother, Anita Maria Garnand; devoted daughter, Cecilia Garnand; cherished granddaughters Milania and Aaliyah Garnand; adored sisters Alexandria Garnand, Dorothy Garnand, Marianne Garnand, Rachel Garnand, Irene Garnand; as well as her respected brother David Garnand - all from Albuquerque, NM. She is preceded in death by her father William Alexander Garnand and nephew Iziah Hudson.
Donna Garnand will be remembered for her selflessness, kindness, and dedication to making the world a better place for those around her.
