Neuman, Doris Elinor
Age 90, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 peacefully and with dignity at her home in Rio Rancho, NM with her loving family nearby. Born November 20, 1924 the daughter of Irving and Mildred, Lewin (nee Stern, both deceased); brother of Bob (deceased in 2004) loving mother of Alan and Paul and grandmother of Shawn Chavez Neuman. Max, Jess and Karin Neuman; adored mother-in law to Veronica Chavez Neuman; and Karen Binder Brynes; step grandmother to Elana and Lily Brynes and cherished aunt to Cheryl Lewin (deceased in 2012). Lian Murray (deceased in 2013), Jim Lewin and Cornelia Auray. Doris was married for 51 years to Robert Neuman (deceased in 2001) and worked faithfully and tirelessly at his side in the Rosedale Fish Market for decades. Doris graduated from Ashley Hall in Charleston SC and the Women's College of the University of North Carolina. Her happiest summers were spent at Camp Severance on Paradox Lake in the Adirondacks. She was an artist who found beauty in painting people, animals, landscapes and flowers. A wonderful writer, Doris was known for her remarkable ability express her sentiments beautifully with a few well- chosen words. Doris touched people's hearts with her warmth, generosity, humor and kindness. She supported the needy, dispossessed and hungry around the world and lived to make the world a happier and more caring place. Special thanks to her caregivers who provided comfort and love as she moved towards her final journey. We will miss her smile, warmth and joyous laughter. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00am at Daniels Family Funeral Services Sara Rd. Chapel.
