Dorothy L. Samora

On December 7, 2008, our beloved wife and mother, Dorothy L Samora, was peacefully called home by Our Heavenly Father at her home in Aztec, NM. Dorothy, 75, was born January 24, 1933, in Columbus, GA. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Mattie Kate White and Charles Dudley McFarlin, paternal and maternal grandparents, sister; Mable Givens, brother; Charles McFarlin, infant daughter; Katie Lucille, and grandson Jeremy Bird. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ben D. Samora Sr., sons; Ben Samora Jr. and wife Toni, Joseph Samora and wife Kim, Charles Timothy Samora and wife Stephannie, daughters; Katherine Faye Milazzo, Anna Marie Kerr, Teresa Suzanne Padilla and husband David, brother; Frank Vigil and wife Ann. Dorothy is survived by 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy married Ben Samora February 1, 1950, in Cusseta, GA. They moved to NM in 1960. Dorothy enjoyed acrylic painting, watching game shows, and spending time with her family. Dorothy worked for Good Samaritian Nursing Home for several years. She was a loving wife and mother and will always and forever be in our hearts. Pallbearers are her grandsons John Livingston, David Sharp, Christopher Padilla, Timothy Samora Jr., Jordan Bird, and Nicholas Padilla. Honorary Pallbearers are her brother Frank Vigil and all of her grandchildren. Dorothy is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec 405 S. Main Aztec, NM (505) 334-9332.
