Dorothy L. Trent

Trent, Dorothy L. Trent, Dottie, Age 84, passed away June 12, 2012. She was born in Topeka, Kansas. Her Dad worked for the railroad which caused them to move frequently in her early years, finally settling in Albuquerque, NM when she was 8 years old. Dottie was full of adventure and enlisted in the Navy in 1951. She met the love of her life, her husband, Bill Trent in 1954 while she was in the Navy. They got married on October 02, 1954 and moved to Albuquerque where they remained for the rest of their lives together. Dottie retired from Hodgin Elementary as a teacher��?�s aide. She and Bill became avid square dancers in 1960 and remained active with the Square Ups and then the Crazy Eights Square Dance Club until she passed away. Dottie and Bill loved traveling with their RV and had many adventures with their RV and square dance clubs. They also had a cabin in the Jemez Mountains where they spend many weekends with their dirt bikes and snowmobiles. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Norma Hassebroek. She is survived by her husband, Bill of 57 years; her daughter Barb Trent and her husband Jim Matchin; and her sister, Mary Arnold. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave SW. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, 19 June at Daniels Family Funeral Services starting at 11:30AM for visitation followed by a service at 12:00PM. Her burial will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 3:00PM. There will be a reception to celebrate Dottie��?�s life at 6:30PM at the Albuquerque Square Dance Center, 4915 Hawkins NE. The family hopes all her friends will join the celebration.
