Douglas L Gallagher

Douglas L. Gallagher , Age 73, passed away on July 3, 2023. Born in Los Alamos, New Mexico on June 7, 2023, Douglas was the beloved child of James Douglas Gallagher and Vera Joyce Fonville.

Douglas is preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Joyce Gallagher, and his parents, James and Vera Gallagher.

After attending Los Alamos High School, Douglas pursued his passion for architecture at the University of New Mexico. In 1973, he graduated with a degree in architecture. For over a decade, he contributed his talents to BDA Architecture and RBA Architecture. Outside of work, one of Douglas's great joys was flying hot air balloons. For more than 50 years, he dedicated his time as a devoted volunteer in the field. When he wasn't flying, he enthusiastically participated in the Balloon Fiesta as a volunteer. Beyond ballooning, Douglas had various hobbies including knitting, woodworking, and photography.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 25th, 2023 at 6:00pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services located at Southern Chapel - 2400 Southern Blvd SE Rio Rancho NM 87124. Following the service, Douglas will be laid to rest at Guaje Pines Cemetery.
