Dyvena Stiles Crawford, the second daughter of David William Stiles and Flora McLain Stiles, was born in Post, Texas on July 5, 1911. She married Burrel Crawford on the twenty-first of December, 1929 in Durango, Colorado. To this union was born three sons: Lloyd B. Crawford and wife Ibbie Lee of Austin, Texas; Carroll E. Crawford and wife Bonnie J. of Farmington, New Mexico; and Dr. Terry L. Crawford and wife Jane E. of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
They reared these sons to be fine Christians and they married fine Christian women. They had eight grandchildren. They also had fifteen great-grandchildren and three great- great-grandchildren.
Dyvena was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Electa Chapter #13 Order of the Eastern Star, The Historical Society, and the Farmington Museum. She was Past Matron of the Eastern Star. She taught Sunday School for thirty-five years. In her later years she was the author of a number of poems and three books, Under The Apple Tree, Dyvena Remembers and Earth Angels.
Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Simmie Edna Stiles and Bessie S. Gibson, and two brothers, David Woodrow Stiles and Dr. Lindley Stiles, grandchildren Diana Keith and Michael Feathers. She is survived by one sister, Cassie Dallas and husband Wayne of Farmington, New Mexico, and two sisters-in-laws, Jane Stiles of Aztec and Faye Crawford of Farmington. Dyvena is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Crawford, Chris Feathers, David Dallas, Scott Crawford, Lauren Peupke, and Marshall Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Hunter, Bill Stiles, Micheal Munoz, Dean Roquemore and Gene Bennett.
