Earl R. Wangerin Do not mourn for him; instead rejoice with him for he is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. He is also with Koleta, his wife of 54 years; Raymond, his father; Ruth, his mother; and Marshal, his brother. He is survived by many wonderful friends. Earl went home June 26, 2011. He was born March 8, 1922 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He and Koleta were married October 21, 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee. Earl graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in accounting. He earned his Aerial Navigator Wings in World War II and served with the Troop Carrier Command in Europe and participated in all of its military campaigns. He was recalled to active duty in the Korean War and served with a Light Bombardment Group in NATO in France. He was employed by Pillsbury Mills, Crenlo, Inc., and Sandia National Laboratories from which he retired in October, 1986. Earl and Koleta liked to travel and they took numerous ocean cruises. They also traveled around the country. He was an avid golfer. Earl was a life-long Lutheran and a member of Christ Lutheran Church whose pastor, Reverend Neal Groeling, will officiate at his memorial service. The service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 7701 Candelaria RD NE, Albuquerque, NM, at 10:00 on Saturday July 2. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Christ Lutheran School or any charity of your choice. Earl’s cremains will be buried in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
