Edith D. Kreps

Kreps, Edith Dorothy Edith Stamps Kreps, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away April, 21, 2013, at 88 years of age. She was born May 8, 1924, in La Jara, CO, to Charles and Lassie Stamps. Edith leaves behind Bill, her spouse of 67 years, daughters, Linda Downey and Becky Kreps, son-in-law, Lloyd Downey, grandson and granddaughter-in-law Dave and Kim Downey, granddaughter Staci Downey, and great-grandsons Gregory, Christopher, and David. After spending her youth in Colorado, Edith moved to Albuquerque to attend business school. She married Bill in 1945, and in 1954 the family moved to Long Beach, CA, where they lived happily for 40 years. During her time in California, Edith worked for the Broadway department store for 32 years, retiring as the store's executive secretary. In 1994, Edith and Bill returned to the Southwest, enjoying their golden years together in Rio Rancho. Edith loved dancing, reading, traveling - especially camping - and spending time with her family. She was dearly loved by many and will be sorely missed.
