Edith C. Vigil

Vigil, Edith C. Age 75, loving mother, grandmother, sister and wife passed away Monday, December 2, 2013. She was born in Vallecitos, NM on June 12, 1938. She was a resident of Santa Fe, NM, Mesa, AZ and Rio Rancho, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcos F. and Carlota Chavez; sisters, Amalia Gilgen, and Nora Martinez; brother, Lionel Chavez. Edith is survived by her husband, Alfred Vigil; sons, Philip Vigil and wife Lupe, Victor Vigil; grandchildren, Christopher Vigil and Leticia Vigil; siblings, Feliberto Chavez, Maclovia Esquibel, Grace Martinez, Marcos Chavez; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends. She attended McCurdy High School. She worked 26 years for the New Mexico State Government, including the Public Defenders Office. She was also a legal secretary for 15 years in Phoenix, AZ before retiring to Rio Rancho, NM. She enjoyed cooking and baking sweets for family and friends. The recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:00 am with the Mass following at 10:30 am, Friday, December 6, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Inurnment to follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road E, Rio Rancho, NM. A reception will follow the Inurnment at Sabana Grande Recreaction Center, 4110 Sabana Grande Avenue SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
