Age 98, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was born in Monterrey, Mexico on March 10, 1920, to Ciro and Dominga Martinez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Dempkey; brothers, Ciro, Pete (Pedro), Buenaventure (Benny) Martinez; sister, Elizabeth Meras; brother, Eulalio (Lalo) Martinez.

Edmundo is survived by his sons, Rick Martinez of Panama City, FL and Michael Martinez of Kennesaw, GA; sister, Mary Meras of San Antonio, TX; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Edmundo joined the U.S Army in 1942, and was promoted to Sergeant. He was in WWII and the Korean War. He served in the military for over 24 years. He also worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant for 18 years. Edmundo was a member of the VFW.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho, NM.

Graveside service to follow at 3:00 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
