Padilla, Edmundo V.
Age 89, passed away at his home in Polvadera, NM on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Tokay, NM on October 21, 1926 to Serafin and Petrolina Padilla. After the war, Edmundo began employment with New Mexico Tech, and worked at the Maintenance Department for 3 years.  He then moved to Alamogordo, NM and worked at Holloman Air Force Base helping with the construction of G Forces for pilots. Edmundo later returned to the Socorro area and reestablished employment with  New Mexico Tech, where he worked at the golf course for 19 years and then TERA for 25 years until his retirement with 47 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Frank Padilla. Edmundo is survived by his loving and devoted wife, O'Tillie Tafoya Padilla; sons, Dan Padilla and wife Dolores, and Steven Padilla; daughters, Barbara Gonzales and husband Robert, Pauline Jaramillo and husband Robert and Isabel Padilla Baca; daughter-in-law, Elaine Padilla; 14 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren. The Holy Rosary to be recited on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at 7:00 pm with Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 9:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro, NM .  Celebrant Father John Anasiudu.  Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Pallbearers will be Danny Padilla, Richie Padilla, Kevin Gonzales, Robert Jaramillo Jr., Frankie Padilla Jr. and Justin Padilla.  Honorary pallbearers are Melissa Padilla-Oberg, Yvette Gonzales, Amanda Crespin, Tycee Abieta, Mariah Baca, Steven Padilla Jr., David Padilla and Melanie Padilla.
