Edna Morris

June 7, 1925 — January 19, 2015

Edna Morris, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19th at Bear Canyon Retirement Community.  Her lifetime was focused on her family, friends and faith. She was born Mary Edna Browning on June 7, 1925 in Cloudcroft and was a lifelong resident of this area, living in Garfield, Hatch, Animas, El Paso, Gallup, Grants, Ruidoso and Albuquerque where she devoted her life to raising her children and working in family businesses. Edna was preceded in death by Jim, her high school sweetheart and husband of sixty two years, and by her daughter Debbie. She is survived by her two sons Jim and Jerry, their wives Penny and Virga, her son-in-law Doug, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother and wife, and her friendly, caring personality touched the lives of many friends as well as family. Edna was an active member of the Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder, Treasurer, and in many other positions. She was a member of Sandia Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, where she volunteered with the Merry Mailers. Edna was an active member of PEO and Altrusa in Ruidoso. Her cremains will be interred with those of her husband in Ruidoso. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys and Girls Ranches of New Mexico theranches.org.
