Edward J. Brennan

BRENNAN-Edward J. Brennan, (Ed), 74, passed away in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, June 25, 2011. He was born on February 17, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY to Julia and Thomas Brennan. In November of 1955, the entire Brennan clan moved to Gallup, NM. Ed worked for the railroad before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge on February 2, 1964. He eventually joined the Albuquerque Police Department and worked as an officer for APD until he retired in 1987 as a Lieutenant. Ed enjoyed music, traveling, working in his garden, cooking, playing softball, bowling, golfing with his buddies and going to the casino. He loved to spin a yarn or two whenever he had the chance. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy J. Nezzer of Las Cruces, NM, Anne Eccles and Elsa Swyers of Tucson, AZ, nephews Richard Nezzer and Lenore LaVerne of Las Cruces, NM, Robert Nezzer and his wife Linda of Cedar Crest, NM, Michael Nezzer and his wife Alice of Austin, TX and niece, Julianne Nezzer Bauer and husband Lane Bauer of Las Cruces, NM. He is also survived by his daughters, Terri Cooper and her children; Aaron, Kevin, Jackie and Justin of Moreno Valley, CA and Peggy Fletcher and her son Mark of Lancaster, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents Julia and Thomas Brennan and faithful canine companion, Meme. Military honors will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery Friday, July 15, 2011 at 2:15 p.m. Donations can be made to the Animal Humane, NM, 615 Virginia Street, SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
