Edward L. Hanson

Hanson, Edward L. Father, husband, and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. He was the beloved husband and best friend for twenty years of Clare Sullivan Hanson of Rio Rancho, NM. He was born to the late Magnus J. Hanson and late Anna Lukasko. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Ann Hanson. Born on July 16, 1937, he grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where he and Lucille Hanson raised their family. He was a loving father to Juanita (Robert) Margetts; Mary (James) Gibadlo; Shirley (Robert) O�Shea, and Patrick (Brenda) Hanson all of the Chicago area. Grandfather of Aprille, Julia and Kylie Hanson, Christina Meyers, Daniel and Christopher Gibadlo, Ryan and Katherine O�Shea; Stepfather to Donna, Norman, Mary, Michael, Robert, Richard, Margaret, Nancy, Thomas, Laura, and James Wollmann. Edward had great faith in our Lord. He was a man who had unconditional love for his family and would patiently listen and share words of wisdom. He loved the outdoors and spent time fishing, bird watching, and gardening. He was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, and served on several church committees during his thirty years in Rio Rancho, NM. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Boulevard, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Edward's honor to Casa Angelica, 5629 Isleta Boulevard SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
